Background and Experience
The National Institute for Environmental Studies, Japan (NIES) strives to contribute to society through research that fosters and protects a healthy environment for present and future generations. Approximately 850 workers are present. The NIES is the only research institute that undertakes a broad range of environmental research including climate change, chemicals and toxics, waste management, biodiversity, health and so on in Japan.
