General Objectives

  1. To achieve postgraduate education of academic excellence in the marine environment and resources, with solid conceptual foundations and a strong practical component.

  2. To offer students a translational science approach, not available elsewhere in Europe, by means of the course programme and the mobility schedule. Accordingly, all the students receive advanced information in diverse disciplines, with contents ranging from cellular and molecular biology, to large-scale processes, or management; this is in agreement with UN statements and EU Directives.

  3. To teach students to study independently and manage a comprehensive project, by means of the research component of the programme (Master Thesis, undertaken at one of the Partners or Associated Partners; see General Information (PDF) and Partnership).

  4. To prepare postgraduates, through these means, for leadership in marine environment and resources research, teaching, consultancy and technical management.
